Movement and embodiment intertwine in a series of four short films
The short films by dance artist Maria Nurmela and photographer-filmmaker Vesa Loika have attracted attention for their original visual and choreographic language, in which strong framing, movement and physicality intertwine to create a seamless dramaturgy. The four short films in Manifesti have premiered at international festivals.
Nurmela and Loikas have been working together on experimental short films since the beginning of the corona pandemic in 2020.
