PIERROT LE FOU - how to dance Godard
“PIERROT LE FOU - how to dance Godard” is an easily approachable and warmly captivating street theater performance where three characters embark on an adventure and traverse the tragedy and beauty of life in 30 minutes in six different languages - enchantingly inconsistently.
The work takes its inspiration from the French film director Jean-Luc Godard's movie "Pierrot le Fou" (translated as "Crazy Pierrot"), representing the style of French New Wave cinema from the 1960s. Like the film, this performance breaks the traditional narrative logic and exploits the idea of breaking the rules in the creative process, achieving a sprawling, multi-artistic performance language. The performance incorporates contemporary dance, theater, music, and visuals in Godard's distinctive exaggerated style and interactive dialogue, drawing inspiration from Godard's physical portrayal of human relationships and his ability to connect contrasting themes. The performance is suitable for audiences of all ages and backgrounds, irrespective of their native language
