VAUVAVALTAMERI - Baby Ocean
- A Dance Performance for babies and their Companions, 2025
Baby Ocean is a dance performance and a sensory experience for babies and their companions created by choreographers Maria Nurmela and Riikka Siirala. Baby Ocean is a sympathetic journey to the origins of life, to the primordial sea, where Eocene-era microorganisms float, move, and change shape. In Baby Ocean, one can wonder, immerse oneself, participate, or simply relax along with the flow of the performance.

“I loved Vauvavaltameri and thought it was perfectly suited to the target audience. I liked its calmness (even meditativeness), colourfulness, and body language!”
“Thank you for a wonderful performance! It was done with great respect and was very considerate of the intended audience! As someone without a baby, it was also lovely to watch the babies’ expressions and behaviour during the performance. The performance kept them captivated until the very end.”
"Thank you for an outstanding performance! It was so lovely to see it and experience it with such an enthusiastic audience. The babies were completely focused and curious."
