Explore your body's creative movement potential through the gentle, holistic Feldenkrais® method in this weekend workshop at Helsinki Summer University – open to all ages and abilities.

Introduction to Feldenkrais® - Explore your body's potential and creative movement possibilities!

Fri 17.4.2026 6:15–8:00 PM and Sat 18.4.2026 1:30-4:30 PM
Helsinki Summer University, Annankatu 29 B, courtyard (adult education/yoga school hall 1 Fri, hall 2 Sat), Helsinki

The Feldenkrais® method is a holistic, embodied learning method in which movement, as a starting point, offers participants the opportunity to expand their awareness of themselves and the world around them through different movement themes, sensations, states of being, and images. In addition to movement and embodied awareness, the Feldenkrais® method allows people to discover new ways of relating to their environment, develop their imagination, creativity and find new solutions.

Feldenkrais® classes are always based on a pre-selected movement theme, explored from multiple perspectives and in a holistic way. For example, the theme may be based on developmental movements, relationships to space, or human physical activities such as reaching, standing, lying down, and looking back, as well as their variations. The theme will be explored through different dynamics at various levels, always putting the participant's own experience and comfort first.

The workshop is open to anyone interested in bodywork and creative movement, regardless of age or background. Feldenkrais is an ever-deepening experiential and embodied method of learning. It also aims to return to previously learned movement patterns and explore them in light of present experience, making it suitable for those who are introduced to Feldenkrais. The course is designed so that each participant can participate to the best of their ability.
